Glasgow Vaudeville

One of my colleagues is taking part in the Vaudeville Cabaret Club this week in sunny Glasgow at Favela, 17 John Street (phone 0141 552 3505 for details). You can go along on Friday 10th and enjoy the cabaret from 9 to 11pm for £7 (with dancing afterwards till 3) or you can have a entire evening starting from 7pm with dinner in a candelit cavern and then the cabaret for £25. Vaudeville bill themselves as "Scotland's premier cabaret night for circus, comedy, burlesque, performance poetry and mind bending experiences of weirdness" which sounds like a good night out to me.

  1. A whole group of us did go down and spent the night at Glasgow Vaudeville...several of the acts were brillent, 'red feathers', we would certainly go see her again, great fun, Quentin, the specky one was very good, there was an excellent chap in a grey suit who did a piece on the Barry's which was singing and comic...that was excellent, very professional and smouth, most likely waisted in the Glasgow scene.....should be in lights! However, the music inbetween the troup was terrible...too loud and dreadful music! Ear piercing! Would have been better if we had our table right at the back instead of at the front....why do people shout into a mike? It already makes everything load anyway?
I'd like to know where we can go and see some of these acts elsewhere, there are some of them that were actually brill! There were a couple of drag queens going around.....not very well made up which was a shame, because one of them really looked the part and moved like a queen:-) the other one was very talented, he sang and played later.....but his drag needed a little more to be believable. Perhaps he would have been better in straight clothes, maybe tight leather:-) Dream on!!
But the best of the night was a chap who went around the table doing card tricks, he was really excellent. We liked his dread locks and his patter.....he's worth seeing again.

so if you know where we can find...red feathers....specky Quinten.....Dred Locks card trickster....grey suited, singing comic and the two drag queens, let us know and we will fly along to see them again.
